Sign-in and recovery
Enter your Raven Vector account email and the one-time code sent to it. There is no password to remember.
- If a code doesn’t arrive, check your spam folder and try again after the short cooldown.
- New families include Easy Recovery. Sign in with the same email on a new or reinstalled device and your family reopens. iCloud Keychain sync is not required.
- For an older family, open it on an owner device that still has access and choose Enable Easy Recovery.
- If an older family has no recovery copy and no trusted device holds its key, its encrypted data can’t be recovered.
Inviting a family member
Create an invite from Crew and send the link only to the person it’s for. The link contains a secret, and it expires after it’s used or after a period of time. The recipient signs in with their own email and opens the link.
- Expired, reused, wrong-email, or revoked invites are rejected. Create a fresh one.
- If the link opens in Safari instead of the app, copy the complete link and choose Paste on the app’s welcome screen.
Pairing your Apple TV
Apple TV is optional. Open Family Flight Plan on Apple TV. It shows a QR code and a six-digit code. Scan the QR code with your iPhone or iPad camera, or choose Add Apple TV in the app and either tap Scan the Code on the TV or enter the six-digit code. Then tap Approve. Approving the TV gives it an encrypted display credential for your family.
- Only a family manager can approve a TV.
- Keep both devices online during pairing.
- The TV shows a new code every 10 minutes. If one expires, scan or enter the new one.
- The free plan includes one Apple TV; Plus includes two. To swap TVs, remove the current one in Settings, then pair the new one.
- Your iPhone and iPad keep working normally if the TV is unavailable.
New-activity notifications
When someone else in your family adds an event, to-do, or urgent board card, your iPhone or iPad can show an alert such as “New event: Dentist · Saturday at 10:00 AM”. The title is decrypted on your device when the alert arrives.
- Choose which alerts you get, whose items you hear about, and whether previews are generic in Settings > Notifications on each device.
- You aren’t alerted about items you added yourself, and Apple TV never shows these alerts.
- If the title can’t be decrypted in time, for example right after the phone restarts, the alert shows “New event added” with the date instead.
- If alerts stop, check that notifications are allowed for Family Flight Plan in iOS Settings, then open the app once so it registers again.
Missing or stale changes
- Open the app and pull to refresh.
- Updates can take a minute to arrive. Apple TV checks more often with Plus.
- Edits made offline are saved and sent when you’re back online.
- If your session expires, edits that haven’t synced are kept on the device. Sign in again with the same email to send them.
- If someone else changed the same item, the app keeps your draft so you can compare before saving again.
Removal, sign-out, export, and deletion
- Removing a member immediately blocks their future access and rotates the family’s keys. It can’t erase copies they downloaded while they had access.
- Signing out clears your credentials and protected local caches from that device and stops its notifications. It first tries to send edits that haven’t synced, and asks before deleting any that are left.
- Owners can export JSON or Markdown and permanently delete the family in Settings > Account & Data.
- You can delete your account after any family you own is deleted or transferred. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your App Store account settings.
