The basics
What is Family Flight Plan?
Family Flight Plan is a shared family calendar and daily planner for iPhone and iPad. It keeps the whole household’s events, chores, routines, meals and countdowns in one plan, and can show the day on a kitchen iPad or an Apple TV. It is made by Raven Vector.
Who is it for?
Families and households that use Apple devices and want one shared plan for the day: parents juggling school runs and activities, kids with chores and routines, and anyone who wants the plan on a screen the whole family can see.
Is Family Flight Plan free?
Yes. The free plan covers everyday family planning: the shared calendar, chores and routines, meals, countdowns, the Family Board, invites for everyone, the Home Screen widget, one iPad family display and one Apple TV. Family Flight Plan Plus is $49.99 a year or $6.99 a month in the US, and one subscription covers the whole household. The yearly plan has a two-week free trial for eligible new subscribers. Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, including iPhone Duo. It needs iOS, iPadOS or tvOS 18 or later. All planning happens on iPhone and iPad; Apple TV is optional.
Does it work on Android or in a web browser?
No. Family Flight Plan is made for Apple devices: iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Everyone in the family who uses an iPhone or iPad can share the same plan, and anyone can follow it on a shared iPad or Apple TV display at home.
Do I need an Apple TV?
No. Family Flight Plan works on iPhone and iPad alone, with no Apple TV or extra hardware. An iPad can be the family display, and the Apple TV app is an optional extra for the living room.
Calendar
Can it import Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud calendars?
Yes, with Plus. Family Flight Plan imports from Apple Calendar on your iPhone or iPad, which includes any iCloud, Google or Outlook accounts you have added in iOS Settings. Plus can also subscribe to ICS calendar links, such as a school or team calendar. Import a calendar that several family members share from one phone only, so events don’t appear twice.
Can I keep some events private from the kids or from shared screens?
Yes. Each event can be fully visible, busy-only, private or adults-only. Private and adults-only events never appear on the Apple TV, an iPad family display or the Home Screen widget, and busy-only events show there as “Busy”.
Is there a Home Screen widget?
Yes. The calendar widget comes in small, medium and large sizes and is included free. It follows the same privacy rules as shared screens.
Does it work offline?
Yes. You can keep planning without a connection. Edits are saved on the device and sent when you are back online.
Kids, chores and routines
Do kids need their own phone or account?
No. Kids can have a profile in the family without an account or a device of their own. They can follow the plan on a shared iPad family display or the Apple TV, and check off chores there when a family manager allows it. Older kids with their own iPhone or iPad can sign in with their own email.
Does it have a chore chart with rewards?
Yes. Chores have an owner and points, and there are morning and evening routines for each child. Flight Path missions help kids work toward a goal one step at a time and reflect on it in their own words. Advanced Flight Paths and Family Crest badges are part of Plus.
Can it plan meals?
Yes. Meal planning is included free, so the day’s plan shows what’s for dinner alongside events and chores.
Family displays
Can an iPad be a family calendar display on the counter?
Yes, in two ways. On an iPad signed into your family, start Shared Display and planning controls hide until you exit. Or turn a spare iPad into a family display with no sign-in: choose “Use This iPad as a Family Display” on its first screen, then approve it once from your iPhone or iPad. The free plan includes one iPad family display, and Plus allows up to four. Set up an iPad display
How does the Apple TV app work?
Open Family Flight Plan on Apple TV and scan the QR code it shows with your iPhone or iPad, then tap Approve. The TV shows the day’s summary, week and month views, routines and the Family Board in large type, and the Siri Remote can switch views and mark things done. There’s no typing on the TV. Free includes one Apple TV and Plus includes two with faster updates. Family calendar on Apple TV
Do I need to buy a dedicated wall calendar screen?
No. Family Flight Plan turns the iPad or Apple TV you already own into the family display, so there’s no extra hardware to buy, mount or keep plugged in on the wall. The family calendar, chores, meals and one display are free. App or dedicated display?
Sharing and privacy
How do I add family members?
Create an invite in the Crew tab and send the private link to the person it’s for. Everyone signs in with their own email and a one-time code. There are no passwords.
Is my family’s information private?
Family content such as titles, notes and photos is encrypted on your device before it’s uploaded to Raven Vector’s service. There are no ads, no sale of family data, no advertising profiles and no AI training on family content. New families get Easy Recovery, which means Raven Vector keeps a protected recovery copy of the family key so you can get back in on a new device. Read the privacy policy
What happens if I get a new phone?
Sign in with the same email on the new device and your family reopens. Easy Recovery handles this, and iCloud Keychain isn’t required.
Can I export or delete our family’s data?
Yes. Family owners can export everything as JSON or Markdown, or permanently delete the family, in Settings > Account & Data.
